School Proms

This is prom season. It is the season that limousine companies wait for all year. It is the equivalent of Mother's Day in the restaurant industry. There are not enough limousines in the country to handle all of the demand for prom. Unfortunately, many unscrupulous operators take advantage of this situation. When checking around for limousines, there are several things that you can do to help protect yoursef. First and foremost, check to see if they have authority to operate from the California Public Utilites Commission. This is very easy to do as the CPUC maintains a web site with the status of everyone who operates or has applied to operate a limousine company. To visit, click here. What you should find is the status of active. This ensures that the carrier is in good standing with the CPUC and has met all of the requirements, including insurance. If the status is suspended, the company has had authority but may have had an issue with insurance or workers compensation that is still pending. This status may be reinstated when the issues are resolved. Having a status of revoked means the carrier no longer has the authority to operate legally. They must reapply if they choose to continue to do business. If you are unable to find a listing for the carrier, ask them what their TCP numbers are. If they cannot tell you, they are an illegal operator and therefore may not transport you legally. Very frequently, the CHP sets up inspection stations at Prom events to catch these operators. Be prepared to walk home when these operators have their vehicles impounded. more

Yes, limousines may be considered extravagant by some, but on prom night, they are the safest way to transport your children. Each year, there is a new horror story about some teens involved in a car accident on their way to or from prom. Our professional, trained chauffeurs will make sure that appropriate behavior is observed. There is no alcohol allowed for under age minors. No exceptions. A written prom contract will be signed before anyone is allowed in the limousine.

Our vehicles are equipped with DVD players and flat screen TV’s, as well as XM radio. They will have a great time, and you won’t be home worrying all night.

Sterling Rose Transportation has a very strict policy with regards to prom. All passengers in the vehicle must sign the contract. Included is a clause that states if any alcohol is found, the ride will be terminated at its present location and parents will be called to pick up the students.

Also, the partitions in the vehicles will be disabled. At no time will the passengers be allowed to close it to hide behavior from the chauffeur. We take our responsibility very seriously and will not tolerate inappropriate behavior.
